Abortion/asleep??

Question
are there any types of abortion, under which the mother will be put to sleep for the duration of the process??

Answer
Dear Colleen,
Most clinics that offer abortion services have you be put to sleep for the procedure.  The approaches that I advocate, the abortion pill and the aspiration procedure, are simple gentle early abortion methods that do not need you to be put to sleep.  You can learn more about these noninvasive abortion procedures at earlyabortion.com.  Most women do not know that they don't need surgery and don't need to be put to sleep for early abortion.  If you want to find a traditional abortion clinic, you can go to Planned Parenthood, or find a clinic at gynpages.com.
I hope this is helpful,
Doctor Joan
