Question
hi i recently had a medical abortion in sept. i really didnt want it but my family kicked me out and disowned me bc i wouldnt. and my b/f at the time told me he would marry me if i did...

i bled for almost 2 months after the abortion. i was coming to the end of that bleeding on nov. 7th when i was raped with my tampon still in. up until 2weeks ago i thought i was pregnant again. but i had a normal period again so i thought i was back on my regular cycle. plus i have taken several tests to make sure i wasnt pregnant again. now just a few weeks after my last period i am cramping really bad right around my left ovary and the last couple of days iv had this discharg that literally looks like chocolate frosting... and has a different smell to it ... not necessarily foul just odd. is there something seriously wrong with me? i wont be able to go to a doctor for a few weeks and im just worried that something is wrong that could cause me not to be able to concieve in the future...does all of this sound normal?"

Answer
Dear Chelsea,
I am sorry you had such a horrible experience.  I hope this will be a time that things turn better for you.
It would be good for you to see a doctor.  Is there a reason you can't see one in the next few days?  The discharge and odor are easily treated with the right antibiotics, and the sooner you start them the better.  The pain should be evaluated, to make sure you don't have an infection that has spread to your uterus.  It would be important to be evaluated soon, and get on the right antibiotics.  There is absolutely no risk to you as long as you get on antibiotics soon.  If you wait, and you have an infection, it could affect your fertility.  Do you need help in finding a doctor?  Where do you live?
