Dear doctor,

Please help me! I had abortion on 6/13/2007 with 6 weeks. And my first period came on 7/8/2007 after abortion. I feel very very regret after abortion. I really want to get a pregnant immediately, but I know it is impossible. My question is: how long can I try to conceive again. I want to be pregnant in a short time because my age (I will be 44 on December). Do I have any chance to be pregnant per my age? What can I do to help to conceive? Does it have big risk (risk abnormal baby) to have a baby at my age?

Thanks for writing me and sending me your question. I'm not a medical professional so check with your physician. I am sorry that you feel regret after abortion. Wanting to be pregnant again is a common reaction after an abortion dealing with regret. Why did you have an abortion if you want to be pregnant again? I would check with a Christian and/or prolife doctor about your questions. I have known women having perfectly healthy babies at your age. Please email me anytime to talk more.
