AboutJessica Elsfort, CRM Expertise Feel free and confident in inquiring about pro-choice issues both past and present. I affirm in all situations women's choice in the real world, as it relates to us and the myriad ways we can uphold it, protect it, and support each other. Birth control, IUDs (copper and hormonal), responsibilities of the male partner(s)--these topics are vital to women today, and I can synthesize recent developments across media. Don't hesitate to ask the tough questions about reproductive health concerns. I keep an updated network of resources every woman should know about. Sisters, don't forget to look out for your girls; be an advocate and speak up for your friends.

Question A friend of mine is four and a half months pregnant and in a terrible situation.
She wants to get an abortion, but was told by a doctor that four and a half months is too late (in general, not just for her; she has no medical problems).
This seems unlikely to me. All of the debate about late-term abortion seemed to me to imply that there could be abortions in the seventh or eighth mont.
Is it true that it is difficult to get an abortion at four and a half months? Won't abortion clinics do them?
Many thanks,
Betty
Answer Betty,
Fewer clinics do late term; some do. Only the places themselves could tell you whether or not they do it.
There is also a number which you can call 24-7 with questions. (It is run by a non-abortion group, just so you know that beforehand.) :) 1-800-395-help ( or 1-800-395-4357)
I hope you all turn out okay. It sounds like the stress is really intense right now.
God bless, and if I missed anything, let me know. :)
