Abortion - Pro Choice Views - How do I make my second experience a better one?

Question
Hi Doctor Joan,

I live in Brooklyn, New York. I've had an abortion done before, and even though the procedure itself wasn't bad, I'm not really pleased with how the doctors treated me.

After my first abortion, they prescribed me birth control pills which I took for a few months before deciding to go back to using condoms. I feel like if I go to the same doctor that performed the procedure, I will be judged for making "another mistake".

I can't afford to pay for an abortion at the moment so I've been looking for a good doctor who accepts my health insurance (Which is "Healthfirst"), but I'm having a lot of trouble finding one.

Is there some website that I can go to that will give me information like a list of doctors and the health insurance they accept? I already contacted "Planned Parenthood" and they don't accept it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Hi Amy,
Our offices are in Brooklyn and Manhattan.  We see many women who have had a prior negative experience in an abortion clinic.  We are completely different - you will be seen directly by a board certified woman doctor, you will not be in a crowded waiting room with other women.  You will have your own private examination room.  You will only be offered the most safe, nonsurgical early abortion methods, and you will be supported by my nonjudgmental, respectful staff members.  Companions are also welcome.
Call my office and talk with Dawn, and she'll work with you.
