Expert: Danielle Date: 3/5/2008 Subject: could Cycotec didn't work
Question Dear Dr. Cheryl. I am 26 yrs old and i live in a GCC where abortion is illegal and medical care is not private as it should be. my last period began in (jan 17 2008) and i noticed that i am pregnant in (feb 24) when i had plus minos test at home. the i visited a GYN MD, she confirmed my pregnancy and on ultrasound she noticed that i was in week 5. the problem is that i am single in GCC and i dont want to loose my residence and my job. so i took CITOTEC 200 mcg Pills under the inscription of a Professional nurse. i took 2 pills on mar-02-2008 before i went to sleep, then 2 pills pm mar-03 morning and 2 pills after 12 hours, then the same next day mar-04. Today i will follow the portion of 3 pills a day for 2 days as her inscription. i felt lots of cramps, but no blood was noticed, only 3 or 4 drops on a tissue after peeying. Right now i am in week 6, and still i through up and feel same factors of pregnancy. Didn't the medicine take effect? am i still pregnant? if there is still a baby would it be normal or deformed? i am afraid Please advise me.
Answer Hi Xavier :)
There's a chance it didn't work, and you should visit a doctor to check, just to be sure. But, on the other hand, it might've worked, it's hard to know, but the small portion of blood indicates it might not have. Of course, the pregnancy hormone is still in you, so some of those pregnancy side efefcts cans till be felt even if the embryo was removed. And there is defintiely a chance the baby would be affected, so seeing a doctor is necessary.
