Hi there. This question is sort of indirectly related to abortion. I wondered what you thought about the woman who recently gave birth to eight babies, and already had six of them? I watched an interview with her, and she mentioned that she felt it would be immoral not to use all of the fertilized eggs, because she believes they are human beings with a right to life. It was clear she was against abortion, and thought it immoral. Couldn't one argue however that it is immoral to bring all of those children into the world? I would like to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

Dear Erica,

You could absolutely argue that is is immoral to bring 14 children into the world with no husband and no means to support them.  It is disgusting, in my opinion.  She is a freak show. Her parents pleaded with the doctors NOT to implant any more embryos not only with the 8 she just had, but also BEFORE the last eight were implanted.  All of the 14 children were conceived via IVF, with the same doctor.

Many people who say things like "it would be immoral not to use all of the fertilized eggs" are lying, and just using that belief as an excuse to have more children.
