The above answer has serious flaws. The baby is not human until the sperm fertilizes the egg. The egg is not human nor is the sperm human until they combine.



In other words, an egg by itself is not an omlet. Cheese by itself is not an omlet. When combined, they become an omlet.





The answer further states that all of these individual "parts" are all alive but "killing" them individually does not take away their life. In other words, systematically destroying "parts" of the human does not result in taking away their "life". However, this is not true. If I take away your arm, you can still live. If I take your legs and your arms, you can still live. If I take away your arms, legs, torso, head...etc, are you still alive?



At some point, removing your body parts will result in the taking of your life. In the case of abortion, all parts are removed and destroyed. The life is taken.
