Question
Is it true that there are millions of families that want to adopt children but can't?

I hear "if you don't want the baby, give it up for adoption because someone, somewhere wants a baby."

Now, I am pro-choice. In fact I think you and I have talked before.

according to the American Foster Care system, only about 250,000 of children are adopted per year, while over 14 MILLION age out of foster care.

If so many people want babies, can you please explain why we have millions of homeless, orphaned children everywhere in the world?

So, is my information correct?
That for every 14million orphaned children in the world, only 250k are actually adopted?

Answer
Hi Desirai  :)

Because that saying only applies to white babies. Kids come into the system throughout their life, so ones who arrive as toddlers and teens face very little chance of adoption, and if they're not white, the chances are miniscule. And people who say that don't really care about children (they'd be fighting homelessness and racism if they cared. They just want women to be punished with a two decade consequence of daring to have sex.

Yes, those statistics are (quite unfortunately for the children) accurate
