Expert: Danielle Date: 9/5/2007 Subject: Operation or Pills?
Question Danielle
Yesterday I went to my doctor after work and after having the pills and he said “cytotec will never do anything to you, I knew a patient who took the whole packet and didn’t abort” when I insisted on having these pills as a chance to avoid operation, he said “ok have one pill vaginal and let’s see”
I didn’t follow his instructions, I followed my friend pharmacologist instructions and took 1200 mg of cytotec, 600 mg orally (3 pills) and 600 mg vaginal (3 pills) and that was last night at 1 am…
I woke up at 8 am and… Nothing has happened! Till now nothing has happened, no pain no bleeding to cramps no anything at all!
I was shocked! I called 4 pharmacies and described my case, look what all of them said: you took a very extreme high dosage that might kill you (!!), having nothing to be done after taking it is meaning one of two explanations, your body didn’t and don’t work with cytotec, or, your pregnancy is too healthy and too strong because a high dosage like this couldn’t effect a bit, don’t take any extra dosages, your solution is in a surgical operation.
Oh my goodness Danielle… again… I will consider the operation again… I’m dieing afraid from it Danielle… I’m scared till a very bad degree from this operation… I don’t want to have it. They have warned me from taking another dosage, do you agree with that? They all see surgical operation is the only way out, do you see that too?
My heart is jumping from fear, it is panic…
Dane I’m fed up, my patience is over and my strength is gone I’M FED UP this night mare will not be ended, I hate myself I hate myself I hate myself and regret I do regret deeply regret everywhile everyday.
By the way I tried to call that pharmacologist and ask him, his mobile is off
And notice something, cytotec should not be taken after the 8th week of pregnancy (I’m almost on the 7th) AND my doctor says that he will not do the operation if the 8th week has passed. I HAVE TO DECIDE QUICKLY!
Operation or extra dosage?
Help me.
P.S: Dear if you feel bored from emailing me and from my case I do understand and do appreciate all you efforts and support, you can just ignore this email and thank you thank you dear for everything. God bless you.
Answer That's odd, you had a good chance that it would cause an abortion. Especially if you haven't started bleeding yet, then the outlook isn't good.
If it didn't work this time, don't try it again. I mean, you can if you want, but I wouldn't advise it. I think it's best to do what the doctor feels is best. If you try it again it probably won't do anything else.
Don't hate yourself! Hate anything else but yourself, it's not your fault this process hasn't been easier for you, which it should have. It's absolutely ridiculous you have to go through hell and back just to terminate a pregnancy. I promise, this will be over soon.
Try and hang in there a little longer. Go with the surgery. You'll be absolutely, completely fine. Only 1 in every 100,000 women die from this surgery. It's probably the lowest risk procedure you could do. The doctor knows what he's doing; he's not doing too much.
I PROMISE, completely, PROMISE, you'll be ok. 5 minutes, and it's done. That's it. Painful, but worth it.
No, of course not! I love getting your emails :) I always hope to hear from you. Good luck with your decision, and let me just say that if there was a big chance, or any reasonable chance of you dyeing, the doctor wouldn't dare perform the surgery. As a doctor, he really, really doesn't want that for many reasons. Try to stay calm, everything is going to go smoothly. I'll talk to you after your surgery, or if you choose to try the pills again. Either way, you're going to get through this nightmare.
