Question Just wondering why pregnant women should even have the right to "choose what to do with their bodies" but women can't choose to sell their bodies? What is the difference?I myself am pro-life and would never in any situation consider an abortion but can't for the life of me figure out the difference.Maybe you can enlighten me as to why women should have the right to end another living being's life because it is their body but another woman gets arrested for prostitution? It's her body right? Why can't SHE choose to do with it what she wants?
Answer Hi Angela :)
This issue (legalizing prostitution) is debated, not in the spotlight, but many people do argue why women don't have a right to prostitution. I'm going to try and answer your question as best I can, and I hope it helps.
Well, prostitution is legal in 1 state and other countries. It is much better and safer for the woman if it is legalized; they can track down any man who beats her, and regulate STD's. However, in the U.S., prostitution is taboo for the govt., and they would take a lot of crap for legalizing it.
On the other hand, prostitution can be very dangerous (mostly for the women, but also for the men too.) Beatings, STD's, killings. Legal abortion is not putting a woman in danger, and she has the right to choose whether she is an incubator or not. There is also child prostitution, which in my personal opinion, should be the type of prostitution outlawed.
Despite evidence to the contrary, the govt. is deciding not to legalize it. It's too bad, because in Nevada, where it is currently legal, monthly blood tests are run, and safety is involved. It should be looked at more in depth by the government, but unfortunately, they choose to ignore it.
