Question
My daughter has a six your old, she got pregnant and just had a bad 5 weeks ago while she was pregnant the guy she was with has verbally abused her and also has hit her in the stomach. He went to jail for about a month. He was in jail when she had the baby. He got out a week after she had the baby and was seeing her but not living at her house. This went on for about two weeks, than he moved back in was there for about two weeks and than he hit her across the back with his belt. She threw him out but he kept calling her she had blocked her front door with a couch and was scared. This went on for about three days. Now he is back there. I just don't know what to do. I am totally afraid that he is going to hurt her bad and she won't do a darn thing about it. I am an emotional wreck. She doesn't want me to call or see me at all. Any help please.

Answer
Dear Anne,

I  fully empathize with you the emotional scenario that you are in.
Your fears are normal as of  any mother.

Understand that your daughter is well of age to take decisions for her and to face the consequences  of the decisions she took by her free will.  Your daughter, inspite of all physical and psychological hurts inflicted by her boy friend still chose to stay with him and ignores your voice. This is a delicate situation. In this situation all the moves from your side to alert her regarding the risks of continuing this relationship will prove futile. This is because she is unable to grasp the realities that platforms your fear.

At this juncture I would suggest  you to shift your attention from your daughter  and concentrate on other positives of your life.
Try regular meditations and other relaxation exercises which will unbind you from emotional bonds.Once you are relaxed you will discover better ways to handle your worries without heaviness.

Become aware that by worrying about your daughter no good things will happen.
