Question
My friend was in love with a guy for last 4 years. Recently there is a gap in their relationship and the girl wants to avoid him, she told him clearly abt it. Yet the guy keeps calling her, keeps telling her that if u dont speak / meet i will come to your home and create issues , etc. The girl has now decided to give a police complaint. I wish to know is there any other way to get rid of him. He is a kind of psycho - minded selfish guy.

Answer
Dear Ananth,
Your friend is probably pursuing the best course of action by filing a complaint with the police.  She can get in touch with her local Women's Center or Domestic Violence organization if you have one available, and they will be able to advise her further as to any options she has.  They may even be able to provide her with counseling services that would help her move past the issues that arise from being involved with an unsafe person.

Thank you for the question and I hope this information has helped you.  You sound like a good friend and I encourage you to keep supporting your friend.

Blessings,  Kriss

Expertise

I can answer questions regarding emotional and physical abuse in dating and marriage situations, however I am unable to give legal advice. Having had firsthand experience in an abusive relationship, I understand the feelings, the questions and the doubts we have as we try to make decisions about how to improve our situations. I am also able to address spiritual concerns regarding staying in or leaving these types of situations.

Experience

Having been a victim of emotional abuse for many years and having family members who were in violent abuse situations, I have personal experience on many levels. I have since gone on to become a professional counselor and work with abused women.
