i am a college going girl. my best friend had experienced a  bitter childhood parental divorce. so he has some sort of negative feelings towards the fairer sex, though he always maintain a flirting attitude with girls. he now lives with his father and step-mom who behaves very rude with him. and in his step-mom's insisting sometimes he even beaten up by his father. though he is a very gentle-spoken person and kind heart person, he sometimes behaves very rude with me even goes to the length of physical abuse like heating my elbow with a pen nib, pulling my hair painfully, pinching me and makes me bleeding. he never acts this way with his girlfriends and other friends. but after hurting me he hurts himself as a self-punishment. i cant see him in a situation. what to do? please help me out.

I very well understand your situation.As far as I understand from your letter I would highly suggest that the  concerned person-your friend needs personal counseling with a psychologist.

Please fix  appointment with a counselor for him.
