Question
Hello,
I am a student working on a project about child abuse, I was wondering what has been done to solve the issue? What groups are working toward a solution, nonprofit organizations, governmental departments? What are some of the hardships in solving the issue?
If you can answer any of these that would be great.
                                   Thanks!

Answer
Dear Alyssa

There are many resources for stopping child abuse, including court agencies, specialized training for school counselors to spot abuse, mandatory reporting requirements for medical care providers to the police for suspected abuse, educational programs for day care providers, and more awareness through the media for neighbors and friends to spot abuse. Laws are definitely more strict about abuse and children can have their parent thrown in jail for abuse. The biggest hardship to solving this social issue is secrecy.
