Answer
Dear Amber,
What you do is leave him for good and if he comes near you again, report him to the police.  This kind of behavior is absolutely uncalled for and if you stay with him, you can expect more of the same.  Physically abusive men have a very difficult time controlling themselves.  You have no reason to stay with someone like this and it would be better for you to get out of the relationship now and find someone who treats you with respect than invest more time and possibly be hurt in the process.  Someone who treats you this way does not love you.  Love doesn't hurt and love doesn't scare people.

Seriously, this is the best course of action for you at this time.  Aggression and physical violence statistically increase over time.

If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact me again.

I can answer questions regarding emotional and physical abuse in dating and marriage situations, however I am unable to give legal advice. Having had firsthand experience in an abusive relationship, I understand the feelings, the questions and the doubts we have as we try to make decisions about how to improve our situations. I am also able to address spiritual concerns regarding staying in or leaving these types of situations.
