Abusive Relationships/anti-social abuser

Question
Do you think someone with an anti-social manipulative controlling personality can change with counselling?

I live with my daughter's father. His abuse has escalated from verbal and psychological to holding me down, standing  in my way, taking my phone away from me, and most recently grabbing my arm and using his body to force me back into the house to verbally attack me in front of our 1 1/2 year old daughter.
We're living together for the first time last month and I know having a young child is stressful.
Do I give him all the chances in the world?

Answer
Dear Kristen

From your description this guy is a poster child for domestic violence. It is only a matter of time before he hits you. He is acting like the 1 year old. He desperately needs counseling. Whether his behavior can change depends on whether he wants to grow up and accept responsibility of an adult.
