I met a man 2 years ago and we hit it off good , the first question I asked him was do you have a girlfriend he told me no he hadn't for quite sometime. We procceded with our relationship. He was 48 I was 46 for 2 years we were close he called me every night and we spent the night together most every weekend, when my daughters friend had a date with a young man who just happened to be his girlfriend of 18 years. I confronted him and he admitted it. When I spoke with this woman we were both in shock , he even bought us the same plant for mother's day and said the same line, I bought one for you and one for my mom, I am devestated, I do not understand how someone could lie like this and keep it up for 2 years, now he acts like he did nothing wrong , please help me to understand this?

You lost me there are you saying he has been two-timing you? If that is the case I am more confused on why you would still be in a relationship with him. If he is willing to lie like this and you were totally clueless about it that should be scary to you. You should also get tested because you don't know who else he has slept with. You may be devastated, but you should also be out of the relationship. This guy sounds like he may have a personality disorder that you nor any kids you have should be around.
