my gf began abusing me verbally from almost the beginning of our relationship. after 3 year I found myself snapping back and she left me claiming i was abusive. what in the World is that all about. Am i abusive because I could no longer tolerate abuse?

It depends on how you expressed your anger at her. Many times people who abuse another feel like they are victims and are entitled to abuse the other. Your ex sounds like she is blaming you for her need to abuse you. Sounds like it is a good thing you split up.
