Accounting, Payroll & Pension Issues/payroll issue

Question
Hi -
Can an employer insist or demand that an employee use direct deposit only? Can they basically refuse to issue payroll unless direct deposit is selected? What about pressuring or sending emails to the employee insisting that the employee use direct deposit?
Thanks,
Melissa

Answer
Mandatory direct deposit is allowed in some states and in some states it must be agreed to by the employee. The employer may send e-mails and promote direct deposit.

I cannot answer whether it is legal in your state as I do not know in which state you reside.
