Question I am 60 years old and disabled (since 2003. I have a deferred vested pension with Lucent(AT&T, it is scheduled for monthly payout starting when I readh 65 years old. I have been told there are no hardship provisions in the AT&T Management Pension plan. How can I check this? Can I draw it early?
Answer Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to your question. It all depends on the provisions of the plan.
There are two ways you can check:
1. At one time you should have been provided with a Summary Plan Description which describes the important features of the plan. If you can't find your copy, you can request anothjer one from the Plan Administrator for the plan.
2. You can also look at a complete copy of the plan at the offices of the Plan Administrator. They also will send you a copy for a small charge.
