Question
If an employee is on a monthly salary but gets a mid-month advance should they be on a 12 pay-period schedule or 24?

Answer
If the employee is paid a monthly salary then they are on a 12 month pay period. An advance is simply an advance on the salary.

If the person is continually taking and advance on salary perhaps the salary should be paid twice a month instead of once a month or you need to talk to the employee and find out why an advance needs paid mid month.

If the employee is a monthly salaried employee there should be only one monthly payment of the salary.
