Accounting, Payroll & Pension Issues - Canadian payroll

Expert: Shirley McAllister, CPP, PHR - 5/22/2009

Question
I do payroll for an Illinois corporation.  They have eight employees.  They are now considering hiring a Canadian sales person.  I need to know where to go to get instruction on how to do a Canadian payroll, and how it will merge with my American one.  Perhaps, they just need to hire someone in Canada to do both payrolls.  I would appreciate your advice.

Suzy

Answer
My suggestion to you is to contact ADP Canada and set up the Canadian Payroll. They will charge you a small fee for doing the payroll and taxes but it will be worth it.

I have employees in Canada and this is who we use to do our payroll. I think the cost is about 50 dollars for each payroll.
