Accounting, Payroll & Pension Issues - forming a small business

Expert: Arthur Naman - 6/3/2009

Question
I am in NYS, wanted to form a small business single person operation from home, I do have a full time job in addition.
Need to know which is the best way to go LLC or SCorp?
And how much the formation should cost?

Answer
I assume NYS is New Your State.

Although your question is experessed simply, it in fact more complex:  type of business, are you single or married, how much are you investing in the business, what are the state and local taxes where you are and how are they affected by the form of doing business. In short, you need to seek the advice of a CPA and attorney in your location.
