Question If an employer decides to reimburse employees the out of pocket cost to get the swine flu shot (not covered by insurance)is such reimbursement considered taxable?
Answer If the receipt you collect from the employe says flu shot or vaccine on it you do not have to tax it, you can call it a health benefit. That works for now, I don't know how it will work if the health care bills are passed by the president.
Just keep all the receipts and code the payments to Health Benefits. Do not pay them out on a payroll check but do a separate A/P check for them.
