QuestionI am writing a basic on line point of sale system for a company, having on limited knowledge on the subject I was wondering what kind of information and reports are necessary to be kept by a POS system.
Also, is there any source that I might utilize for the legal requirements for a POS system?
Thanks in advance for your time,
Jeff Manning
AnswerI do not know what a "line point of sale system" is. I am aware of a point of sale, POS, system is.
You did not specify the type of business in question; I presume it is a retail business.
The answer as to the what kind of reporting is necessary is dependent on the: type of business, volume of business, size of sales, type of inventory reporting needed, frequency of inventory ordering, etc.
There is no response to the question of "legal requirements" of a POS system. The question is what reporting the specific business needs virsus what reports are provided by a particular POS system. There are plenty of POS systems on the market; the only question is which one provides the reporting needed.
I guess what I am really trying to say is that more information is needed. You need to work with someone local or over the internet so that you can provide more information to that person which would then allow that person to assist you with this.
That interaction is probably beyond the scope of this free service.
Finally, I would point you to
