Accounting, Payroll & Pension Issues/Pay Cycle Change (Wed-Tues to Sun-Sat)

Question
I am looking to sell a pay cycle change to my upper managment from Wed - Tues to Sun - Sat. The most logical reason is ease in computing overtime for employees. Any other suggestions you could provide would be beneficial. Thank you. Beth

Answer
Actually 40 hours is 40 hours. If the week is the same each time than it is still one week even if it is not a traditional Sun-Sat week. Most weeks are Mon-Fri because that is the standard week, but it is not necessary. It might be easier for the employees to understand as the American Standard is Mon-Friday. If you are open weekends it is usually Sun-Sat. 7 days or 5 days whichever type week your company has.

We think ours works very well, I cut time off on Friday, pay the following Friday every two weeks 26 times a year.
