Question
If I send a salaried person home for misbehavior can I deduct an amount from his salary?  I disciplined an employee for his actions by sending him home early.  He is a salaried person and I want to deduct 2 hours pay from him.  Can I do that?

Answer
No this is not correct. If a salaried person works part of a day he needs to be paid for the entire day.  If you put him on suspension for a day or 3 days than you can deduct the pay while he is on suspension.

If he has vacation or sick pay you can deduct from that for the 2 hours.
