Question
hi, i have tried to contact my employer repeatly to ask why they have changed the payday without notice. they have not return my call. i have talk to the manager, but they are also unaware of the situation as well. i work in the restraunt industry so i am paid every 15 days. is there a deadline as from the payday to when they can paid? for example: today is payday, but they wont pay us til monday or tuesday. is that legal? thank you.

Answer
You should be paid on the same payday each pay period. If you are paid every two weeks than that should be when you are paid.

Pay periods can be weekly, bi weekly or semi monthly and in rare cases monthly.

This is not legal for you to wait for your pay past the pay period. you can contact the department of labor and let them know that you are not being paid on time.
