Question
What is overhead Variance?

Answer
Any variance is the difference between the budgeted aand actual amounts. Given the way you are looking at it, actual v. budgeted, often a negative number means your under budget, which is good and the bad would be the opposite.

Overhead variance applies to the overhead expenses, you'd have others for materials, labor, sales, et al.
