Question
I work in Texas for a company that caters to the Petrochemical plants.  We are currently in Beaumont Texas, working on a Project for ExxonMobil.  The ExxonMobil Project Superintendent asked my Site Superintendent "why are you handing out paychecks at P.M.".  If we handed out paychecks at lunch break they would all early out.  Is there a law that says what time to hand out pay checks?

Answer
None that I'm aware of.

Now custom maybe another thing, the supervisor may be alluding to the fact that there was a time when you saw the paymaster as you left for the day since you were paid in cash. It also made sure the money wasn't blown at lunch time.

These days of direct deposit, that makes it meaningless.

Good luck
