Question
Hi Dave im from the Houston area In southeast Texas and there saying theres going to be some brutally cold air coming down Thursday all the way down to the coast. There saying theres only going to be a slight chance of some snow mixed with sleet Wednesday night and Thursday morning thats it. I was wondering do any computer models show any lows developing in the western gulf or any upper level disturbances coming in after the arctic air moves into southeast Texas?

Answer
Cody,

It looks like the rain that occurs ahead of the arctic air mass could end as some sleet...maybe even a touch of snow, but that's about it. By the time it is really cold enough to snow, it will be drying out. Any further development of another low pressure wave in the Gulf will occur too far south of you for any precip to occur. You will probably just have some cloudiness from it.
