Accuweather/yearly weather in the U.S. vs. yearly weather in Europe

Question
Hi Dave,
I was wondering if you could help me find the weather for an average (recent) year in the U.S. and in Europe.  I'm specifically looking the max/min temps and the sun-load.  The parts of Europe I am interested in are England and everything to the East and south of it (basically, Russia doesn't need to be included).

I've tried looking on websites, such as weather.com.  They tend not to have the whole year of weather.  It's also difficult to find the average weather for the U.S. as a whole.

I'm trying to figure this out for research on car batteries.  The hotter and sunnier the environment, the shorter the batter lives.  Europe tends to be cooler (on average) and has fewer sunny days, therefore batteries last longer there.

Any guidance to websites or information you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Katie
