Question
Dave:

We'll be sailing from LA to Hawaii November 5. After reading your answer to a similar question, I'm still wondering what to expect when we're "out" in the ocean.

Thanks in advance. Go Penn State!!!

Sue

Answer
Sue,

Here is some information for you.

LA...
Normal high/low temperature on November 5th: 72/55
Normally not much rain at that time of the year
Hottest ever in early November: upper 90s
Coolest ever in early November upper 30s

Honolulu...
Normal high/low temperature on November 5th: 85/72
Generally wetter than LA, but normally not a wet time of the year
Hottest ever in early November: 93 degrees
Coolest ever in early November: 60 degrees

Of course, November is still in hurricane season, although the frequency of storms drops off dramatically by then, compared to September and early October. Barring any hurricanes or tropical storms, early November is typically a dry time of the year in that part of the Pacific Ocean.

I hope this answered your question. Go Penn State!

Sincerely,

Dave Dombek
