Question
We are very concerned about flux in the "normal" weather patterns lately.  We are in Madison, WI and are trying to decide on a wedding date (Aug 4th, Aug 11th or Nov 10th).  Based on statistics of the past, which would be the best day for a rain free, sunny wedding day.

Thank you,

Julie

Answer
Julie,

In Madison Wisconsin, here are the normals and extremes for the dates you mentioned...

August 4th: Normal high 81, Normal Low 61. Record hottest: 97 in 1988, Record coolest: 41 in 1972
August 11th:  Normal high 81, Normal low 60. Record hottest: 96 in 1941, Record coolest: 39 in 1967
November 10th:  Normal high 46, Normal low 30. Record warmest: 67 in 1930, Record coldest: 10 in 1979.

In August, you will have a lot more daylight available, and the chances of seeing the sun are much greater than they are in November. In August, it generally rains about every three  days. In November, it precipitates (notice I said "precipitates" instead of rain) about every other day.

I hope this helped.

Sincerely,
