Question
Hey man I have been trying to come up with some of a more traditional spanish sounding tune for a project I have been working on. I am a experienced guitarist and have a well rounded backround in many styles of playing. I am just looking for some inspiration I guess or something to work with. if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

Answer
Hey Dave,
That could depend on the type of Spanish music you're working with. When I'm looking for inspiration, it comes in some pretty unexpected places. My method for writing songs is sort of simple, yet it works (for me anyway :P). If I'm trying to write a Zeppelin style tune, I'll listen to nothing but them until I feel ready to write. I try to single out Jimmy when I listen. That way all I'm getting is the guitar, and the whole time, I'm trying to dissect each part. After that, I start playing and get into the groove of that style and it comes to me. I can suggest come great spanish style players...
Bob Hooper and Santana are incredible players.
I would try to get some inspiration from good players in that style. I hope I have helped you out. If you still need help, send me a follow up. Take care,
-Wes
