Subject: old logo Takamine

Question
I recently acquired a Takamine guitar that I believe to be quite rare.  It has the old logo that is the same size and design as the Martin guitar logo. Model number is GF 425 S and serial number is 75110821.  This guitar is almost an exact copy as a Martin D 25 or D 18.  I keep coming up "no match" even on the Takamine website.  If you cant tell me how rare or approximate value maybe you can direct me to a site that can.  This guitar is not for sale, I just want to know if I should insure it or not.

Answer
Hey Kevin,
I have found a site that may be of intrest, although it doesn't give much information, other than the guitar was made in Japan, Saturday, November 8th, 1975. It was the 21st guitar made that day. The link to this site is

http://www.guitardating.com/takamine.php

I hope this has been helpful. I will continue to search the sites I know and let you know in a follow up if I find abything. Thank you for your question.
-Wes
