Question QUESTION: I just purchased this 2001 Alvarez Yairi CY-1 Classical Guitar and can't seem to find any information anywhere about this guitar. Do you happen to know its original retail or value? It is a really great classical guitar. Thanks for any help you can give.

QUESTION: As far as a serial number - it is marked pre-owned guitar, no warranty. Original serial number has been covered with a new serial number of 166261. On the neck block is 0801 215. The back side of the headstock is stamped USED. Thanks so much.
Answer Well, on the first serial number, all that came up when I ran a search on it was that it was manufactured in 1989.. That's odd.
The only thing I could find on a CY was a CY-140. Here's a link to that...
If it has "Used" stamped on the back of the headstock, then it is definately a high end guitar.
