Question
Hi Wes, I read your answer to that other gentleman who had asked you about his Carl Fisher Guitar. Unlike his guitar that is called a Monarch by C.F., mine says Carl Fischer on the head stock. With a nice scrolling design on it. I'm told the previous owner would be 92 if he was alive today so I'm thinking it could be between 1916 and 1950. But I'm not sure. There are no visible stickers, markings or manufactorer's serial number or anything that I can see on the inside. I think this guitar is really old but I don't know how to find out. Any ideas?

Answer
Hey Alan,
My advise to finding out how old the guitar is would be to take it to a professional appraiser. Get him to take a look at it and see what he thinks. I think your guitar is older that 1945 because certain companies didn't put serial numbers on their guitars until around then. On the other hand, the previous owner may have removed the sticker inside for some reason, or possibly, the sticker could have fallen o0ff due to excessive moisture. I would definately take it to an expert in the feild so they can examine it hands on. I think you have a very rare and unique instrument that will last a lifetime if taken proper care of. Thank you for your question, and I hope I have helped you out!
-Wes
