Acoustic Guitars/Yairi Concert Guitar

Question
I was interested to know the value of a Guitar I bought in 1969. The label inside says:- B & M Concert then some Japanese writing and a red marker, followed by Hand Made by Yairi Serial No. 115 AD 1968 (Japan). It has a beautiful tone and I will never part with it.
Regards
Graham

Answer
Hi Graham

This guitar would have been made at a time before yairi was split into seperate companies, and they are quite rare!
Any pre 70's yairi made before the split, in very good cosmetic condition (ie no major scratches or marks) and structural condition (neck good, no cracks or warping) I'd expect to be worth USD$1000+

Thanks

Hello I can answer most question on anything to do with Yamaha acoustic guitars, as well as a range of other Japanese made vintage acoustic and classical guitars. As a collector and trader I have a pretty good knowledge of trends and current values. As a said, Yamaha's are my area of specialty, particularly any made at the Nippon Gakki, or Japanese factory.

Collector and trader for 10 years
