Question
Hey Mr. Rodd I have an acoustic Alvarez 6 string guitar and I'm trying today. I found out so far it was mad in 1981 and its Ser. No.45681 and model NO.513 and i got this guitar from a friend for 45 dollars and i would like to know how mush it would be today and did i get a good deal on it and is it really a good guitar?

Answer
Hello
I think you have gotten a pretty good deal. Any guitar that is 30yr old is going to sound better that ANYTHING you could by in a shop for that money, thats no doubt. Is it an Alvarez made by Yairi?
Not too sure what it would be worth today - couldnt find much info on this one
Thanks!

Expertise

Hello I can answer most question on anything to do with Yamaha acoustic guitars, as well as a range of other Japanese made vintage acoustic and classical guitars. As a collector and trader I have a pretty good knowledge of trends and current values. As a said, Yamaha's are my area of specialty, particularly any made at the Nippon Gakki, or Japanese factory.
