Question I have a 1972 Alvarez Kazuo Yairi acoustic guitar serial number 47372 model number 5049. Could you give me the approximate worth of it.
Answer The approx. Retail for it would be around $800.. The approx insurance value is around $1200. These are selling for anywhere from $200 to $900 on Ebay.. And condition isn't making much difference. It's mainly when it's listed, and how it's listed. But all the way around, the Yairi is a nice instrument, no doubt, but it has never commanded high prices, and is not nearly as sought after as many of the competition. I have seen Epiphones go for more, even though in my opinion the Yairi Alvarez is much better.
