Question
Not sure if I should hang on to this guitar or trade it.
And I need to know it's possible value.
1977 Alvarez Yairi/FY40 Seriel #15680 Fair to Good condition. Plays great. Looks good.

Answer
I can't tell ya to hang on to it or not, only you can make that decision, I mean, if it doesn't make you feel god playing it, then you probably wont miss it much. As for the value, roughly around $200-$300 give or take, I mean it's hard to say, you said it looks good, but you also said fair to good condition, so I'll take that as played, and small dings dings and scratches, no gouges or holes, no cracks. So, yeah, $200-$300. Even in really good condition you'd only get about $500 or so for it. That's the going rate anyway..  Hope that helps...

BTW, For what it's worth, The Yairi Guitars from the 70's are some of the best made. So , I personally wouldn't give it up, simply because the sound and quality will be hard to replace...
