Subject: Approximate Value

Question
Hi James,
I have a Gibson, Chet Adkins, solid body, electric, classical guitar, serial #82175548.  I was hoping you can give me an approximate range for its value.
Thanks,
Dave B

Answer
well, it was masde August 5th 1985, and as for value, well, somewhere in the $1500-$2000 range... really depending on condition and such... But that is roughly the range they are running right now.. I know of one place that has an 87, that is like brand new, and they are having a hard time unloading it, and they had the price set at $1250.. I told them to try selling it online, I am not sure if it sold online yet or not.. But, that is the basic range.. Bluebook I think is right around $2000 in excellent condition, and it goes down substantially from there... Hope this helps..
