Question Thanks if you can help me indentify a Lowden LSE-II guitar, serial number 2634 I have. It doesn't have electronics other than a bridge pick up, and the neck appears to be two piece rather than the 3 piece necks I've seen on other Lowdens. It has Lowden tuners, but white pearl winders. The strap button on the guitar is the input jack for amplification. Any idea what year this was made or how much it is worth? Thanks very much!
Answer I am afraid I can't answer when it was made. Lowden does not release serial number information. So, there is no way to determine that. You can contact them directly, the website is http://www.georgelowden.com/ And there is a telephone number and email address on there to contact. I have a friend who called and ended up speaking to George himself, so, give that a shot. They are all very friendly and helpful over there. As for the value, well, I know the Lowden guitars I have seen were all 5 piece necks, so I dunno about the 2 or three piece, the under saddle pickup is there low end model, LR baggs unit. Very decent, but still gets some quack like most of them do. Value wise, I would say somewhere in the $1500-$2000 range.. If it had the better pickup system it would make it more desirable to a buyer, but as it is, it's still a Lowden, and that carries allot of weight. Congrats, that's a great guitar..
