Question
I have a Sigma by Martin Guitar thatwas given to me.  It is excellent condition and I want to sell it by I want to get what it ios worth for real and not hwat a pawn shop would give.  I know nothing about guitars but i do have a serial number.  It is 253353.  I do not even know how old it os or were to start to see what it is worth.  I know without seeing it you cannot give secifics but a ball park woul be great.  It is in excellent condition.  Also, I am in Nashville TN do you know of a place that buys used guitars that would be local?  Thank you

Answer
Well, The model can tell you a basic date range, but the serial number means nothing I'm afraid. There is no way to truly date this guitar. The Average going price for a Sigma is around $150-$300.. Depending on Condition, and just basically no real rhyme or reason.... Honestly, you could get more money by selling it Ebay, at the same time, it's a gamble, you may not.. It's weird...
For local stores, Try Nashville Used Music at 4876 Nolensville RD
or
Music Go Round, in Antioch at 5314 Mt. View RD

That's a couple...  There are more, but I know you'll probably only get around $100 for it going that route... It's a nice guitar, don't get me wrong.. But it's a Sigma, so to dealers that means asian Import, and that means $100. Just kind of the nature of the biz...

    Hope this helps..
