Question I have a Fabrica de Guitarras H Calatayud y Gisbert S.L. Valencia made in Spain acoustic guitar. Any idea on it's value.
Thanks
Answer Honestly, I can't really give you a good answer for this one. This sounds to be made by a small maker in Spain. So, it isn't something that there is alot of info available for. Actually, there is virtually no info available for it. I would have no way of determining any value for it via email. If you could send me some pics, and some more info, do you know the age of the instrument? Send pictures to guitaranswerman@jkoontz.com I am very interested in this guitar, I will tell you this, most guitars I have seen made by small makers in Spain, as long as it looks decent and plays decent would fetch no less than $250-$300 in used condition. Though, I have ran into some that just weren't very well made, They looked like early runs, and so there was some trial and error evident in the final product. this seriously detracts from the value, unless the maker ends up becoming famous. Could you imagine finding the First guitar C.F. Martin made? yeah, you get the idea... Anyway, That's about all I have right now. If you can get me some more info, and pics, I would be able to be a bit more accurate. But still, You would need to have it looked at by a local guitar tech/appraiser to find out more. The general rule of thumb is, if the name isn't known, or there isn't any info out there, the value is low. There are alot of fine guitars out there, that wont get much money on the market, because noone knows the name, But almost any playable guitar is worth $100. If it looks good too, that can take it up more towards $200, then it depends on where it's made though. Most china made will not get more than $150 used. Korean made will get up to $200, and then Spain, Mexico and the likes can get more. Hope this helps..
