Question Hello, I would like some help with determining the value of a guitar i received for a gift. I feel it may be to expensive to accept. Anyway it is a Gibson custom shop J-45. There were only 25 of these guitars produced to benefit the Live Earth Concert that was help of 7707. This one is brand new in unplayed condition, it is signed the Dave Matthews Band, Kt Tunshell and others who performed at the concert. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards Eric
Answer HI Eric!
Well, let me tell you, that guitar has been recalled, it is EXTREMELY toxic, the fret board has chemicals that can make you sick, so you need to box it up and send it to me right away so I can dispose of it properly.. OK OK I'm kidding.. It is actually a great guitar... The thing is, There is no book value for this, because of it's history, This one truly has no "value", it is priceless... It can't be predicted what it would sell for at auction. I can't tell you it is worth too much as a gift, I figure whomever gave it to you, must have felt you were worth it, and though I don't know you, I would venture to say they are right. So my advice is play it, ALLOT.. and ENJOY it. Feel blessed that someone loves you that much. In the immortal words of Louis Armstrong, It truly is a wonderful world.
