Question
Im not sure whether I have a dr-41 or the cheeper version gc-1.  The tuning screws are gold in color. Has only s/n # inside 900-354...21 frets. Years ago I called Martin Guitars.  They said this guitar was assembled in the U. S. A. Factory but I cant remember what model they said I have. Any other things to look for.  Looking at other pictures of dr-41 mine looks like most except for the mother of pear inlays on the frets. Mine are pear colored circles....dots. Thanks for your help.

Answer
None of the Sigma guitars were ever assembled in the US factory.. Sigma was the import manufacturer of low end guitars for Martin, They started making them for Martin in 1970, and continued until this year...  THey no longer make guitars under the Martin license.. There is no way to determine the age or anything from the serial number...  Sigma did not use a dating system of any kind...
