Acoustic Neuroma/AN

Question
For 2yrs I have been treated for Menieres..  Over time it became much better and Dr allowed me to cut back on meds.
Months latter I woke up with all AN symptoms, (not knowing).
Dr sent me in for MRI which does not show a tumor but metal? piece on the right side of my brain.  My Dr went on vacation, and his receptionist was able to tell me it was not a tumor, but there is nothing they can do about the metal.  Help?  Is the metal causing the ringing and numbness, the protozoan does not seem to be helping.  Which I have taken 5 days now.
Thanks Kim

Answer
Kim,

What exactly are your symptoms, how did they develop, and are they one-sided or two-sided?  Also, was your MRI was done with the right contrasting agent that reveals the presence of AN?  Also, what is your Dr.'s specialty, have they worked with many AN patients before? Finally, I do not understand about the metal; there should be no metal in your head unless you are aware of how it got in there (accident? left during surgery)?  Without answers to this questions, I am afraid I do not have a clear enough picture of the situation to be helpful.
